Statement

Krika Paskim, faced with social isolation, found a new direction for her artistic practice, exploring new media and expanding her dialogue with geometry and urban space. This challenging period seems to have led her to delve deeper into the essence of form and structure, finding inspiration in the lines and patterns that define her everyday life. Her works harmonize two distinct interests: the observation of urban temporal transformations and the artistic expression developed in her studio. In her forays through the city, Krika absorbs the urban space through photography and, at times, collects scraps of wood, slats, and discarded frames, thus building a vast repertoire of materials whose memories of their previous uses are inaccessible today.
These urban fragments, full of history and meaning, gain new meanings, emerging as protagonists in her art. Transformed into artistic objects, they acquire a new narrative, now in the field of art. This practice not only gives voice to neglected and discarded materials but also provides a reflection on the ephemerality and beauty found in the invisible layers of the urban landscape. This is the artist's process in constant flux, reflecting the changes and challenges in the world around her.
